Soft, sweet and serene

ANBIA® Coco Loco Foaming Hand Wash Soap is an 82% certified organic soap made from saponified organic oil of sunflower, organic oil of coconut, organic vegetable glycerin, coconut extract, oatmeal extract, and rosemary extract. Because of the coconut oil—a highly saturated oil typically used in cooking or applied in hair and skin—this foaming hand wash soap offers many benefits. According to Healthline, some of these include the power to kill harmful microorganisms, reduce inflammation, treat acne, moisturize dry skin, and help with wound healing.

ANBIA® soaps are certified organic by the Department of Agriculture in the state of Montana. What allows these soaps to be certified as such is that the manufacturing plant in which they are made is also certified organic. This plant also has Leaping Bunny certification, indicating that it is cruelty-free, and animals are not used for testing in its products.

USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) has set the global standard to determine what makes a product organic. The NOP classifies organic products in three different levels: 100% organic, organic, and made with organic. To determine this, the NOP compares the percentage of organic ingredients present in a product to the total ingredients without counting water or salt. The three levels can be defined the following way:

  • 100% Organic: Exactly what the name says. Dried organic herbs are a perfect example.
  • Organic: In order to belong to this category, products must contain a minimum of 95% organic ingredients. Normally, a small amount of a natural preservative or processing aid is what keeps these products from reaching its 100% organic quality. Many fixed oils, such as palm or coconut oil, contain a trace amount of citric acid to increase their shelf life. Simultaneously, any trace ingredients used must conform to the USDA’s list of ingredients approved for use in organic products. Both the “100% Organic” and “Organic” categories are allowed to display the USDA organic logo.
  • Made with Organic: Products which fit into this category contain a minimum of 70% organic content, but don’t ever reach the 95% (organic) mark. The USDA has set 70% as the minimum percentage a product needs to have in order to still be certified as “organic” in its labels and marketing. It is especially important for consumers to understand this category since it’s also the most misrepresented and the one most improperly marketed. This is especially true for soap—which can’t ever reach the 95% organic level—and skincare. True soap requires lye for production – sodium hydroxide for bar soap and potassium hydroxide for liquid soap – which accounts for 13-15% of original ingredients by weight. Even if all other ingredients in bar soap were certified organic, it would never have an organic content of more than 85-87%.

Because coconut oil has antimicrobial properties as a result of its medium-chain fatty acids, it can protect the skin from harmful microorganisms. This is important because many types of skin infections, such as acne, cellulitis, folliculitis, and athlete’s foot are caused by bacteria.

Similarly, coconut oil also has anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation, which is a major component of different kinds of skin disorders (psoriasis, contact dermatitis, eczema), can be relieved with this oil, for it improves antioxidant status and lowers oxidative stress.

As mentioned before, the coconut oil present in ANBIA® Coco Loco Foaming Hand Soap can also treat acne. Acne is by definition an inflammatory condition of the skin. As a result, many of its treatments aim to reduce that inflammation. Therefore, since coconut oil effectively reduces inflammation in the body, it can also treat acne by reducing inflammation in the skin.

When it comes to skin hydration, coconut oil has been proven to be just as useful as mineral oil. Those with mild to moderately dry skin can specifically benefit from it, as can those who suffer from eczema—a skin condition characterized by scaly, itchy rashes.

Lastly, coconut oil can help with healing wounds. Treating wounds with virgin coconut oil accelerates healing, improves antioxidant status and increases levels of collagen—an important protein for wound healing.

After using ANBIA® Coco Loco Foaming Hand Wash for three weeks, I have noticed that my skin has become softer. Even though I had always been a bit reluctant to using coconut oil for skincare, this soap has convinced me of its many benefits, and I now consider it a necessity for my skin. My hands feel more hydrated and nourished than they did before, and I also noticed how a scar I had in one of my knuckles for over a year recently disappeared. My skin feels young and revitalized, and it makes me feel more confident and feminine. This foaming soap concentration is ideal—neither too thick nor too thin—making it consistent and easy to rinse off. At the same time, its soft coconut scent leaves a pleasant, refreshing smell after using it that always makes my hands feel moisturized and protected from external agents.
