Our hands tell it all

Have you ever looked down at your hands and cringed at what you saw?  We often take more care of our faces, arms, and legs but neglect our hands and that’s a standard mistake.  Your hands constantly need more hydration than any other part of your body as they’re more exposed to frequent use, plus the required constant handwashing practices tend to cause a loss of your skin’s natural moisture.

As we age, the speed of our skin’s cell turnover slows down, making uneven skin tone more obvious, we start to determine brown spots, creepy wrinkles, and rough skin around the fingers. There’s little or no fat on the backs of the hands, so even a tiny amount of collagen or elastin fibers begins to interrupt down – as we view the aging process and sun exposure, the more sun exposure you had when you were young, the more brown spots you’ll notice with age. Nobody wants thin scaly skin on the tops of their hands, so it’s important to exfoliate them followed by a hand moisturizer every chance you get.

Like the skin on your face and body, the skin on your hands can take pleasure in a weekly exfoliation which helps to get rid of dead skin cells buildup. I’d like to recommend coarse sugar and fresh lemon juice as a natural alternative,  using similar motions as you’d when washing your hands, this makes it easier for your skin to absorb hydrating hand care products like serums, oils, and after all, hand cream. Then, rinse and follow up together with your favorite cream.  Your hands will feel soft and youthful.

We can also take simple steps to guard our hands like to wear gloves within the winter and when washing dishes or cleaning the house.  Another good tip to recollect is instantly after cleansing, while your hands are slightly damp, apply moisturizing ointment with new collagen formation, and, don’t forget the sunscreen.  Doctors agree with one key to keeping your hands looking young is to avoid direct sunlight. The subsequent neatest thing is to coat your hands with an honest sunscreen with SPF30 or more several times each day.  We can’t stop nature’s aging process, but we can have soft hydrated hands.

At night, when you are applying your skincare products to your face and body, try massaging a number of these same creams onto the tops of your hands, as it benefits the skin on your hands as well. Creams with antioxidants are amongst our favorite skincare ingredients because it can help protect the surface of your skin from atom damage, while also working to embellish your skin tone.

Don’t forget your cuticles, you’ll be able to use a skincare oil like coconut oil, almond tree oil, argan oil, or mongongo oil to administer your cuticles an identical hydrating effect. Apply the oil to the tops of your cuticles and nail beds and gently massage it in, there is nothing prettier than healthy nails.  Prepare to smile and to receive compliments the next time someone shakes your hand.
